One of my favourite things about coming back from a trip is finding a mail box full of awesome things I didn’t know I was getting/had totally forgotten I’d ordered. And since I’ve gotten so many awesome things in the mail recently I really wanted to share them with you.
First up is the truly unexpected. Even though it was very late at night when I finally got home from the airport, not to mention without my luggage as it had been put on standby and didn’t arrive until the next day; I still squeed with absolute delight at the sight of birthday cards from Gladys of Usagi in Wonderland and Cazz of Nerd Burger fame. It was so totally unexpected and completely warmed my heart. I especially love the PuppyCat drawing by Gladys and the Batman trading card and stickers from Cazz. Thanks, ladies!! You totally made my day.
Next up were my Espionage Cosmetics Nailed It! nail wraps. You may remember the Kickstarter campaign for these puppies that did the nerd blog rounds last fall. Well, they finally got around to mailing everyone their rewards and I even got a bunch of extra ones since they exceeded their Kickstarter goal by so much. I gave one set to my sister and tried one out myself (not pictured), but I think I’m going to need a bit more practice before I’m comfortable using my favourite motifs. If anyone else has these and has any tips to share I’d be eternally grateful.
And finally, my Vegan Cuts Beauty Box for February had also arrived. I know I didn’t post about my January box, and honestly I’d been planning on canceling my subscription after this box, but I was so happy with this month’s box I’m going to keep going for a little while.
I haven’t tried the styling whip by Yarok or the Pickles & Ice Cream lip balm by Molly Rose Balms yet, but three of the items in this month’s box have got to be three of my favourite products yet. The Tea Tree & Rosemary deodorant by Greenbody is beautifully scented and surprisingly effective. Even the little tiny sample roller is great to use.
The hand cream by Chandler Farm is as luxurious as advertised, absorbs quickly into the skin and smells absolutely diving. It’s the sort of thing that could easily become addictive.
Finally, the lipstick in Baroque by Medusa’s Makeup is my new favourite lip colour (and Rick’s too). Its incredibly pigmented, smooth, moisturizing and smells incredibly yummy. The one catch is that it doesn’t last very long, but being that it is so velvety smooth and smells so good, I really don’t mind reapplying it throughout the day.
