Holla!

How was your week? I found myself running around like a mad-woman, attending workshops, redesigning the blog, and playing Get Water! competitively (more on that next week). This weekend will be spent catching up on sleep, ironing out the bugs in the new blog design and hopefully actually finishing that Dames Who Make Games interview I’ve been sitting on for the last six months(!?). Ugh.

In brighter news, I am OVER THE MOON to announce Gamerwife’s very first sponsor: the very lovely (not to mention, practical) Points and Places. Caranina lovingly repurposes used lipstick cases into stylish and uber-portable flash drives. Please check them out and tell them Gamerwife sent you. 😉

Oh, and if you’re considering advertising on Gamerwife (which you totally should), you can view all of our ad rates and conditions on the Sponsors page. Options start at a mere $3 and, from now until October, all new advertisers will receive a second month of advertising FOR FREE! What are you waiting for?

On to the links:

Hookshot Inc. finally returns with some down to earth advice to those wanting to get into writing about video games.

What happens when male writers are interviewed the way female writers usually are? Hilarity.

Wanna wear your Bioshock Infinite pride? Sanshee has you covered with some especially stylish T’s.

In “I don’t want to live on this planet anymore” news, one of the writers of BioWare’s Dragon Age Inquisition quit writing because of DEATH THREAT AGAINST HER AND HER FAMILY. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people?!?!

These vintage Atari T-shirts are kind of too much.

Speaking of things you can wear, I think I need this R2-D2 dress. What do you think?

Did you know there are super creepy conspiracy theories about My Neighbor Totoro involving kidnapping and murder? Yeah, me neither.

Game I want to play. RIGHT F-ING NOOOOOOW!!!

A surprisingly insightful review of SyFy’s Heores of Cosplay (starring Gamerwife favs Crabcat Industries).

I loves this mix of pixel art & photography by Victor Matheus.

Attention fan girls. Tom Hiddleston Bingo. That is all.

This Wonder Woman fan-film is everything an awesome Wonder Woman movie could and should be. Now if only Hollywood could get their shit together…

Chevron controller skirt. So nerdy. So chic.

And finally, in less nerdy covetables, check out these gorgeous tea towels. They’re almost too pretty to use.

What I’ve been playing this week:

Candy Crush Saga (kill me, kill me now)
Jelly Splash
I Heart Shark Cat

What Rick’s been playing this week:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
The Nameless Mod
League of Legends
Rogue Legacy
Final Fantasy XII (on the PS2)

Thanks, Jane. You always have such nice things to say. I really appreciate it. To be honest I never got into any of the FF games, but I love Chocobos and Moogles because they are soooo cute! I hope you enjoy the game more this weekend. 🙂
