Indie Royale Game Bundles

So, maybe you missed out on the amazing Humble Indie Bundle offer from last week, but there are other ways to try some new games for a steal online. Indie Royal offers a new bundle every two weeks (!) available for direct download, or to download with your Steam or Desura account.

The brainchild of the creators of Desura and independent video game editorial site IndieGames.com, Indie Royale was created to give exposure to independently produced games that give great experiences, but would have been otherwise ignored by the mainstream public. Unlike the Humble Indie Bundle, not every bundle on Indie Royale gives you the option to designate some of your payment to charity, but they also do All Charity Bundles, so it’s not like they’re against charity. They’re just more focused on getting exposure for good games, which is pretty charitable in and other itself, if you ask me.

What I love about Indie Royal is that while the minimum price increases gradually with time, rewarding early opt-in; as more people contribute more than the minimum, they can drive the price back down, meaning you’re pretty much guaranteed a bargain whenever you decide to buy.

They also reward loyalty with a rewards system based on the number of bundles you purchase. Rewards include albums by chiptune artists 8-Bit Weapon and ComputeHer and arcade titles like Super Space Rubbish and Fireball.

This month’s bundle features PSN hit Pixel Junk Eden, puzzle platformer Escape Goat, action-beat’em up Noitu Love 2: Devolution and trippy light and sound game Auditorium. Plus, if you can cough up $7 or more they’ll throw in 8-Bit Weapon’s new album, gratis.

So what are you waiting for? Buy yours now.
